Leeds digital consultant marks first year in business with national charity project

Kingsbury Consulting helps Edinburgh-based Big Hearts Community Trust – the official charity of Heart of Midlothian FC – undertake its first formal digital strategy.

Leeds, UK – 3rd March 2026 – Leeds-based Kingsbury Consulting, founded by digital transformation and strategic advisor, Michael Guy, is marking its first year in business with the completion of a significant engagement with Big Hearts Community Trust in Edinburgh. The digital strategy and business analysis piece was the first formal digital transformation work the charity had ever undertaken.

Big Hearts provides year-round mental health, equality, and social inclusion services to vulnerable children and families through football-based activities. Having achieved record fundraising results, the organisation needed to move beyond reactive decision-making and build a clear, sustainable digital strategy – but lacked the internal expertise to do so.

Kingsbury Consulting’s approach centred on comprehensive stakeholder engagement, to understand both the organisation’s values and operational reality. This led to the development of a strategic roadmap – spanning eight business dimensions and five implementation phases – while balancing immediate operational improvements with longer-term strategic developments.

He really got under the bonnet of what we were trying to achieve and where we were at,” said Craig Wilson, Chief Executive of Big Hearts Community Trust, “It’s given us real clarity about how we take the organisation forward over the next eighteen months to two years. We now know what we need to focus on. We’ve been able to identify our quick wins, our longer-term strategic goals, and it’s helped us prioritise what we do and when we do it. We’ve got a plan that we believe in.”
