Harvesting success as the West Yorkshire Good Growth Programme comes to fruition

As the West Yorkshire Good Growth Programme draws to a close, it’s an opportune moment to reflect on the impact the initiative has had since its inception in April 2024.

Over the past two years, the programme has supported businesses across the region to strengthen their operations, improve productivity and plan for sustainable growth. Through a mix of workshops and one-to-one bespoke coaching, the programme has helped business owners explore new ideas, develop practical skills and make changes that support long-term success.

During this time the programme has supported 445 businesses from across West Yorkshire including the delivery of 77 events and expert led masterclasses. Many of those businesses have gone on to implement new approaches within their organisations, with 331 introducing new-to-the-firm technologies or processes to improve the way they work.

The programme has also contributed to employment growth, helping participating businesses to create 338 new jobs during the period.

A key part of the programme’s success has been the engagement and commitment of the businesses who took part. From exploring digital tools and improving financial planning to developing leadership skills and strengthening growth strategies, businesses have embraced the opportunity to learn and adapt.

As the programme wraps up, the businesses’ achievements will continue to drive their growth and help fuel the wider West Yorkshire economy. The programme has supported many diverse, ambitious companies across West Yorkshire, and it will be exciting to see how they continue to develop in the years ahead.
